Our History

BUREAU FOR COMMUNITY ACTION AND DEVELOPMENT

BUCAD was established in 1997 by a group of Ghanaian social development advocates to address some of the urgent education and poverty-related problems that confront rural communities in Ghana. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include integrated social development that promotes income-earning activities, improved nutrition and health, as well as poverty reduction with the active participation of community members.

We also embark on advocacy initiatives and networking, people process, democracy and governance, partnerships and women and development, among others.
